Bhubaneswar: The row over YouTuber Kamiya Jani refuses to die down as a Brahmin organisation on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Governor Raghubar Das seeking action against the social media influencer and chief minister Naveen Patnaik’s former private secretary and present Biju Janata Dal (BJD) politician V Karthikeyan Pandian.

An 11-member delegation of the ‘Vaidika Brahmana Parishad’ met the Governor at Raj Bhawan in Bhubaneswar and submitted the memorandum. They accused Youtuber Kamiya Jani of eating beef and entering Srimandir in Puri. They also demanded action against VK Pandian for inviting her and facilitating her visit to Srimandir.

The Brahman council threatened to sit in front of the Srimandir, the abode of Lord Jagannath at Puri, as a mark of protest and perform a purification ritual if their demands were not met.

“Both Kamiya Jani and the person who facilitated her visit, have committed a sin. We want stern action against them. We will not stop here. We will inform the Prime Minister and President too. If no action is taken, we will be forced to resort to protest,” said Sudhansu Sekhar Mohapatra, working president of Odisha Vaidika Brahmana Parishad.

A massive controversy has erupted after Kamiya Jani entered Srimandir accompanied by Pandian. Both were seen consuming ‘Mahaprasad,’ a special offering at Srimandir, in Puri’s Radha Ballav mutt whose pictures went viral on social media.
