YSR Bima registrations last date June 7

VIJAYAWADA: AP chief secretary Dr. K.S. Jawahar Reddy has ordered that all collectors complete the registration of people eligible under YSR Bima by June 7.

Accordingly, volunteers of all village and ward secretariats are identifying and enrolling beneficiaries under the scheme, which will be implemented from July 1.

Under YSR Bima, heads of eligible families, aged between 18–50 years, are insured with the premium being paid by the state government. In case any insured head of the family between this age dies a natural death, her or his kin are paid ₹1 lakh. However, if the head dies an unnatural death, like in an accident, or gets permanently disabled, the insurance company pays the surviving family ₹5 lakhs.

Jawahar Reddy said the scheme is being provided by the government directly through the village and ward secretariats. The state government has decided to allocate ₹372 crore in the budget for implementing the YSR Bima scheme.

The CS said Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had launched this scheme on July 1, 2021. Since then, the YSR Bima registration process is being carried out every year for helping 1.32 crore families across the state.
