Girl's organs donated to Jeevandaan scheme of the government
On Friday, her father P. Rajesh was killed and Ramya was injured when a car hurtled on their vehicle from the other side of the road.
Hyderabad: Four organs of eight-year-old P. Ramya, who was declared brain dead after sustaining grievious injuries in Friday’s accident at Nagarjuna Circle were donated by her family to the Jeevandaan scheme of the government.
Ramya was a Class III student of St Paul’s High School at Hyderguda.
On Friday, her father P. Rajesh was killed and Ramya was injured when a car hurtled on their vehicle from the other side of the road.
Ramya was immediately taken to hospital and was declared brain dead on Saturday morning. Her mother Radhika, who had suffered fractures in the accident, was persuaded by family members to give consent to donate Ramya’s vital organs.
Following her permission, Ramya’s heart, liver and two kidneys were donated.
