Nizamabad: Children are getting habituated to playing games online even in rural areas in Nizamabad district. Their parents’ smartphones is contributing to this disturbing treand.

Reportedly, a few children were even taken to psychiatrists for counselling so that they stop their habits.

On the other hand, some parents are encouraging the children to play online games and use social media sites like YouTube and WhatsApp. As a result, children from the age of 2 years are now seen playing with the cell phones.
Interestingly, a few of them are answering the calls too.

Cutthroat competition among cellular service providers has made available data on phones at dirt-cheap rates. In this context, usage of Internet has intensively increased.

K. Durga Prasad, owner of hair salon in Nizamabad told DC that he was surprised when a four-year-old boy came to the shop along with his father and asked hairstyle showing him a video on YouTube.

The boy regularly watches YouTube and was impressed with hairstyles online and asked for the same, Mr Prasad said.

It is classic example for impact of online on children, he said. Meanwhile, managements of a few private schools have warned students not to create social media accounts.

They said that during school days, children browsing online accounts will adversely affect their studies. Reportedly, a private school management inquired about social media accounts of their students and strictly warned them close the accounts.
