KAMAREDDY: District collector Jitesh V. Patil said that priority will be given to the enrolment of women as voters.

Voters can raise their objections or claims on the names in the draft voter list by September 19, he said.

As part of the special voter enrolment drive, the collector visited Bhiknoor mandal on Sunday and inspected polling booths.

Jitesh said that booth level officers (BLOs) should take the initiative to enrol all eligible persons as voters. He enquired about the steps taken for enrolment of voters, deletions and additions to the voter list. He directed them to enrol youths who attained the age of 18 years as new voters and avoid duplication of voter names, he said.

Before the deletion of dead voters, officials should get death certificates from the family members and issue notices regarding the deletion, he said.

He said that the details of the scattered family members should be registered in the same polling booth and the focus should be on cent per cent enrolment of voters, he said. A transparent and error-free voter list will be readied by October 4, he said.
