Confusion over ban on Gluconorm range of drugs

The confusion in the Gluconorm range has created doubt among the people on whether it is banned or is available.

Hyderabad: In the fixed dose combination ban, Lupin’s range of Gluconorm fixed dose combinations have been prohibited from the ban. The notification does not have the drugs Gluconorm PG1 and Gluconorm PG2 of Lupin. 

The manufacture and sale of these two FDCs, is subject to compliance of certain additional labelling requirements on all its promotional literature and pack inserts in respect to the precautions of individual drugs, as directed by the notification. For the other range of Gluconorm FDCs, the company has filed a writ petition in the Delhi High Court stated the officials of Lupin. The confusion in the Gluconorm range has created doubt among the people on whether it is banned or is available.
