Modi: Turmeric Board to harness potential of farmers
Nizamabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated the central government's commitment to ensure the wellbeing of farmers.
Replying to a post by Member of Parliament from Nizamabad Arvind Dharmapuri, regarding the benefits of establishment of the National Turmeric Board that the PM announced on Sunday, Modi posted on X:
"The well-being and prosperity of our farmers have always been our top priority. By establishing the National Turmeric Board, we aim to harness the potential of our turmeric farmers and give them the support they rightly deserve. The benefits for Nizamabad are particularly immense. We will keep doing whatever it takes to ensure a brighter future for our turmeric farmers,” he said.
Arvind Dharmapuri said this was a landmark moment for turmeric farmers and this was a testament to the BJP's commitment to uplift the lives of farmers in Telangana, especially in Nizamabad.
“This move will revolutionize turmeric farming, ensuring fair prices and global recognition. Turmeric isn't just a crop, it's an integral part of our culture; it is used for health, culinary and religious purposes,” the MP said.
Its demand surged during the pandemic for its immune-boosting properties. The Turmeric Board addresses this, supporting both farmers and consumers. The Turmeric Board, from sowing to harvest, marketing to export, will be a game-changer for our farmers, Arvind explained.
The National Turmeric Board is a beacon of hope for Telangana's agricultural community, he tweeted on X.
