Hyderabad: Girl riding pillion with brother run over by bus
Police registered a case under Section 304-A (causing death by negligence) against the bus driver and the rider of the bike.
Hyderabad: A 23-year-old woman, who was on her way to write the Railway Recruitment Board exam on Saturday morning, died after the two-wheeler she was pillion-riding skidded in Malakpet and she came under the wheels of a private bus.
The deceased, identified as G. Kavya, a resident of Saidabad, died on the spot.
According to Chaderghat inspector, Nagaraju, Kavya was going to the exam centre in Alwal along with her brother, Sai Prasad Goud. “Sai Prasad tried to overtake a bus from the wrong side around Suprabath Hotel at Nalgonda Cross roads.
As there was gravel on the road, the bike skidded and fell. Kavya was run over by the private travels bus, which was coming from behind,” the inspector said.
The body of the deceased was shifted to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

Kavya’s body was handed over to her family members after the post mortem.
The bus belonging to Sony Travels has been seized. It is registered in the name of Syed Moinuddin Hussain. A challan for wrong parking is pending against the bus.
Kiran Kumar Goud, uncle of the deceased, told Deccan Chronicle, “Action should be taken against officials concerned about the bad condition of the road.
Had the roads been proper, Kavya would have been alive now. We have lodged a complaint with the police and hope justice will be done.”
