Poet, former MP Bekal Utsahi passes away

New Delhi: Former Congress Rajya Sabha MP andrenowned poet Bekal Utsahi passed away at a city hospital in the wee hours on Saturday following brain haemmorhage.

He was admitted on December 1 at RML hospital following brain haemmorhage, said a doctor.

Utsahi passed away at 4.30 AM in the ICU.

“He was like a father to me, so it is a personal loss. He was one of the greatest poets of our times,” said Ashok Chakradhar, poet.
