Devotees Seek Cleaning of Saptha Godavari

Kakinada: Devotees have called on officials of the Endowments department to clean the Saptha Godavari pond near Lord Manikyamba Sametha Bhimeswara Swamy Temple at Draksharama, one of the Pancharama Kshetras in Ramachandrapuram mandal of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district.

The area lies within the Ramachandrapuram assembly constituency of BC welfare minister Ch. Srinivasa Venu Gopalakrishna.

In particular, devotees take a holy dip in Saptha Godavari and light Karthika Deepalu in the pond during the early hours and evening.

Devotees complain that temple authorities have neglected Saptha Godavari. They are thus facing inconvenience in taking bath in the pond before lighting the Karthika Deepalu.
