Each Round of Counting to Take 30 Minutes
Hyderabad: For those awaiting round-by-round updates of the counting of votes on Sunday, officials said that each round would take around 30 minutes. The number of votes in each round will depend on the polling percentage of that constituency," said an official from the Hyderabad district election authority.
That means constituencies like Yakutpura which had sub-30 per cent voting will be decided quickly, those like Munugode with a large number of voters may take time.
Mobile phones are not allowed inside the counting centers and all the counting agents and counting staff should come to the counting centre by 5 am, Hyderabad district electoral officer (DEO) Ronald Rose said. He said that there will be a three-tier security in place and counting of postal ballots will start at 8 am.
Following this, counting of EVMs will begin at 9 am and the results of the first round are likely to be announced at 9.30 am. “ The counting will be completed by late evening,” said Rose who visited the counting centres located in Wesley Degree College, Secunderabad, and GHMC Indoor Stadium, Amberpet.
