Chennai: Mrs Sheila Balakrishnan, former chief secretary serving as adviser to the Tamil Nadu Government, resigned late Friday evening, informed sources said here. The sources revealed she may have been ‘advised’ to put in her papers.
Mrs Balakrishnan's term is to end on March 31. She was appointed as adviser to government in 2014 as soon as she retired as the state chief secretary. She wielded considerable power during her CS tenure and even later as she enjoyed the trust and confidence of Jayalalithaa until the late CM’s last days.
