Hyderabad: Devotees of the Dargah Yousufain have complained that large amounts of money are being collected for burying bodies in the attached graveyards and an illegal water plant is being run on the wakf land.

Wakf Board  Chairman Mohammed Saleem on Wednesday inspected the dargah and heard the grievances of devotees.

A devotee complained that Rs 6,000 was being collected for burial. Devotees requested the chairman to expand the Masjid prayer space. During Juma, festivals and special days, a large number of people could not be accommodated within the premises and many offered prayers on the road.

Saleem advised officials to repair the wuzukhana (ablution place) and purify the water tank. He asked them to remove the encroachment on the graveyard and should not allow either devotees or shopkeepers to disrespect the graves.

He said Wakf Board will carry out developmental works in the dargah and provide better facilities for devotees. A decision would be taken at the next board meeting for expansion of the masjid space, he added.
