HYDERABAD: Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand held a long high-level review meeting with officers of the rank of additional DCP and above to discuss matters related to public safety and security apart from administrative issues.

While reviewing the cases pending for want of arrests, investigation, FSL reports and chargesheets, Anand asked DCPs to specifically focus on them. The meeting discussed the reorganisation of the police and accommodation required, CCTV projects, the working status of the cameras and the targets set for each SHO and DCP to install new cameras.

Anand said a new wing called D-CAMO (Drones & Cameras Maintenance Organisation) is now set up to maintenance of CCTV cameras, drone repairs, projects, execution and it will be headed by a senior rank officer and the wing is further divided into four sub-wings.

“ An independent third-party audit will be carried out across the city to identify the grey spots lacking CCTV coverage, to check the condition of the existing cameras. Let us sensitise the public on the significance of CCTVs in crime prevention & detection,” Anand said.
