Mumbai: On Thursday morning, women commuters staged a ‘rail-roko’ at Diva station after they were denied entry into the ladies compartment.

The incident took place when the Kasara-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) local train reached Diva junction at 6:56 am.

The argument broke out between the passengers after they failed to enter as some women stood at the doors of the compartment blocking the entry of others and over seat sharing in the coach.

The tiff was followed by chaos as commuters on the platform forcibly pulled out women who were inside the train and started the agitation.

After the police intervention, tracks were cleared.

Though train services have now resumed, however, they are running at least 15-20 minutes late.
