Class X student injured in road mishap succumbs

Anantapur: Akhila, a class X student who suffered serious injuries in a road accident in Vidapanakal mandal two days ago, died on Tuesday.

She was among 15 students who were taking their SSC exams every day at the government high school in Vidapanakal by travelling in an autorickshaw from their village Havalagi.

On Friday too, they attended the examination and were returning to their village in the autorickshaw. The vehicle overturned after its driver lost control and crashed into a herd of cows. Two of the students – Akhila and Sailaja – were seriously injured and shifted to Anantapur General Hospital. Akhila was further referred to Kurnool General Hospital after her condition deteriorated. However, she succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday.
