Stone-laying for Bhogapuram airport: Naidu slams Jagan
VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu has slammed Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for laying the foundation stone for the Bhogapuram airport as “a stone had already been laid for it in 2019.”
Speaking to the media at the party headquarters here on Wednesday, Naidu alleged that Jagan Reddy while as opposition leader had created several hurdles in the construction of the Bhogapuram airport. “Jagan had even asked the farmers not to give their land for the project and promised them when the YSR Congress assumed power, the acquired lands would give back to the farmers,” the former CM said.
Naidu said that cases had been filed in the courts against the airport.
“My government had acquired 2,700 acres for the airport then. Why is it that the airport is now coming up only in 2,200 acres and what has happened to the remaining 500 acres?”
Chandrababu claimed credit for building the first greenfield airport in the country in Hyderabad on 5,000 acres of land.
He said the YSR Congress government’s “reverse rule” was destroying all systems in the state and the sunrise state had totally gone bankrupt under Jagan Reddy’s rule.” He asked the people to drive out the YSRC
government as the future of the youth was in danger.
