One death confirmed so far, says AP team

VISHAKHAPATNAM: The team of officials, who were sent to the accident site by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, said one person from the state has died in the Balasore triple train accident on Friday evening. The victim was identified as Gurumurthy of Arilova village of Santhabommali mandal of Srikakulam district.

The officials said Gurumurthy boarded Yeshwantpur Express to collect his pension and succumbed to injuries which he sustained in the train accident. The officials said they had identified 11 injured from the state in the accident but unable to trace another 58 passengers who travelled either by Coromandel Express or Yeshwantpur Express.

The officials said some bodies were in the mortuary and they were comparing them with the 30 photos sent to them. The team interacted with the family members of the injured persons and offered them treatment either in Bhubaneswar or Visakhapatnam.
