Warangal and Hanamkonda districts get nod
Govt to clear revised proposal this week
WARANGAL: It appears like officials and public representatives have nearly finalized plans to convert the existing mandal divisions in Warangal Urban and Warangal Rural districts to Warangal and Hanamkonda districts. They have come up with a new plan after making significant changes to their earlier proposal.
Although it was decided to include Wardhannapet, Raiparthy and Parvathagiri from Warangal Rural district in the proposed Hanamkonda district, the plan was eventually dropped. The fact that people from these mandals would have to travel to Hanamkonda via Warangal did not seem justified.
As an alternative, the authorities have decided to include Parkal, Nadikuda and Damera mandals in Hanamkonda due to their proximity to the district headquarters. This implies that two revenue divisions would be part of Hanamkonda district. Kamalapur division too may be included in the Parkal revenue division to ensure ease of governance.
Amid all these developments, there will be no change in the boundaries of villages. Without opposition from any quarters, the government is expected to approve the proposal for creation of two districts and issue orders this week.
The move will clear the issue of Warangal Rural not having headquarters. This remained unsolved all these days because of a lack of coordination among public representatives. A suitable location can be found for an integrated collectorate complex as envisioned by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
