Ramesh Chennithala speaks to Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah on Abdul Nazer Mahdani
He alleged that the ruling BJP at the centre was trying to rewrite and eliminate the history of the freedom struggle of the country.
MALAPPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala on Thursday said that he spoke to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah requesting him to reduce the huge amount that the Karanataka Police demanded for arranging security to Abdul Naser Madani during his forthcoming visit to Kerala. “The Karnataka CM has assured a positive decision in the matter,” Chennithala said while addressing media here on the sidelines of a party event. “The huge amount for Madani’s security was demanded by City Police Commissioner of Bangaluru and the CM told me that he was not aware of this,” Chennithala said.
Earlier, in a letter, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had urged Siddaramaiah to reduce the amount demanded by the Karanataka Police and assured security for Madani during his visit to Kerala to take part in his son’s marriage and to meet his ailing mother. Mr. Chennithala inaugurated the commemoration of the 75th year of Quit India movement organised by Malappuram block Congress committee. He alleged that the ruling BJP at the centre was trying to rewrite and eliminate the history of the freedom struggle of the country. “The BJP is polarizing people by instigating communalism,” he said.
