No celebration during duty hours: KSRTC
As per the order, the Onam celebrations will be restricted for the smooth functioning of the KSRTC offices.
Thiruvananthapuram: The KSRTC has issued a circular asking the staff not to celebrate Onam during duty hours from September 10 to 16 to ensure that the operations are not hampered. As per the order, the Onam celebrations will be restricted for the smooth functioning of the KSRTC offices. The circular issued to offices, units and workshops of the KSRTC said that Onam celebrations should be conducted outside the office hours.
The circular comes close on the heels of the government order issued to heads of departments pointing out that the celebrations should be conducted without creating inconvenience to the public. Earlier, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had also warned officials against using office hours to decorate Pookkalams and conducting other Onam celebrations on office premises. The circular issued by Higher Secondary Director asking students not to celebrate Onam during working days had created a controversy. However, the order was withdrawn after Education Minister C. Raveendranath intervened.
