False spirituality is root of religious terrorism, says CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has asked the public to be vigilant against the growth of religious terrorism.  Addressing a  public reception given to Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil at Girideepam convention centre  here on Tuesday, Mr Vijayan said that  false devotion and fake spirituality were  the reasons for the growth of religious terrorism. 

Fr Tom Uzhunnalil, who was released from the custody of terrorists in Yemen recently,   Marthoma Church Valiya Metropolitan Philipose Mar Chrysostom, Mayor V. K. Prasanth, Sivagiri Trust secretary Swami Sandrananda, Palayalam Imam V.H. Suhaib Moulavi,   Syro-Malankara Catholic Church head Cardinal Baselios Cleemis, Thiruvananthapuram Latin Catholic Church Auxiliary Bishop R. Christudas  and Salesians order provincial Joyce Thonnikozhiyil  also spoke. Later, Fr Uzhunnalil visited Mr  Pinarayi Vijayan at his  official residence and attended a dinner hosted by him.      He also called on governor Justice P. Sathasivam and former chief minister Oommen Chandy.
