Malappuram blast: Pen drive sent to forensic lab
SIT starts to prepare sketch of suspected man as per clues of eyewitnesses
MALAPPURAM: The team investigating the blast on the Malappuram collectorate campus has sent the pen drive which the police recovered from the blast site to Forensic Science Laboratory to decode the data it contained. While rumors have been flying thick and fast on the contents in it, the investigating team has scotched speculations saying the contents may be known only after the test at FSL. “There is no truth in the rumours and we have sent it for testing,” deputy superintendent of police P.T. Balan who heads the Special Investigation Team, told DC on Thursday.
The SIT has started to prepare a sketch of a suspected man as per the clues of the eyewitnesses amid contradictions in their accounts. It has also announced a reward for the public who are willing to hand over any significant information that would help the investigation. Meanwhile, additional director general of police (intelligence) R. Sreelekha visited the blast site on Thursday to take stock of the situation. South zone ADGP B Sandhya will visit the site on Firday, the police said.
