Pensioners can get life certificate generated at doorstep or through post offices
Elderly can check if their respective PSA is listed for this facility at https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/newassets/docs/List
Hyderabad: Pensioners, irrespective of whether they receive Central or state pensions, from now on, need not step out of their homes to submit their annual life certificates to their respective pension offices.
The Central government on Tuesday announced that Jeevan Pramaan, an Aadhaar-based Biometric Enabled Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners can now be generated through post offices or at the doorstep of the pensioner through postmen.
A pensioner whose Pension Sanctioning Authority (PSA) is available on Jeevan Pramaan and is eligible for Jeevan Pramaan certification, can check if his or her respective PSA is listed for this facility at https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/newassets/docs/List.
Typically, the months of November to March are when pensioners queue up at their local pension officed to submit a physical life certificate. However, with the Covid-19 pandemic still raging across the country, with nearly all pensioners falling into the vulnerable age group of over 60 years, pensioners will now have an option to get their Jeevan Pramaan certification done at home by a postman. A service request for this can be placed through PostInfo app.
Meanwhile, the Employees Provident Fund Organisation has called on all pensioners to stay safe and at home and said that it has put in place a multi-agency system that allows EPS pensioners with a choice to select the service delivery agency as per their convenience.
EPS pensioners can submit Aadhaar-based Biometric Digital Life Certificate or Jeevan Pramaan at banks, nearest post office or at common service centres/Mee Seva centres. Pensioners only need to carry their mobile, bank pass book, Pension Payment Order number and Aadhar number. The EPFO also said that alternately, they can contact their local postman/nearest post office for submitting the Jeevan Pramaan certificate.
Making it further easy for EPS pensioners, the EPFO said that henceforth, they can submit their life certificates online anytime of the year instead of in November and December and such certificates will be valid for 12 calendar months after submission.
The Telangana government too called on state pensioners not to visit pension payment offices and use Jeevan Pramaan system or the T-App folio for submitting their life certificates digitally.
