AP offers Deaf Olympics champ Group-1 post

Vijayawada: The AP government has offered Deaf Olympics bronze medallist Shaik Jafreen a Group-1 post. A gazette notification has been issued in this regard on Saturday.

Shaik Jafreen belongs to Kurnool district. She captained the Indian Deaf Tennis team in the Deaf Olympics 2017, and went on to win bronze medal in the mixed doubles.

As per its sports policy, state government offers Group-1 posts to international sports persons. So far, P.V. Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, Vennam Jyothi Surekha and Saketh Myneni are among those who have got Group-1 government jobs.

As per G.O. 61, Shaik Jafreen has been offered the post of deputy registrar (Category-4) in the cooperative department. She will undergo training prior to taking up her post.
