VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada Adventure Club (VAC) further extends its activities by introducing two day parasailing to its members. Adventure enthusiasts flock to the Krishna River bank at Manipal Hospital to participate in the event. Around 50 people from 6 years to 60 years experienced the thrill in flying high on parasail. The VAC so far conducted trekking, nature walks, night camps, rappelling and exploring the exotic forest sites now added parasailing to its activities.
Taking advantage of the Krishna River the VAC members enjoyed the new adventure sport to the fullest. National Adventure Foundation (NAF) Hyderabad provided technical assistance to the VAC members. The experts from NAF took all the safety precautions to ensure the sail goes smoothly. VAC founder member K Suresh said, “We are adding new activities to our list so as to keep our members experience excited. We are happy that the first day event concluded without any problems,” he said.
It was an extraordinary experience sailing through the air and watching Vijayawada city and the Krishna River from the sky, said Madhavi Koppala, a 46-year-old woman, who works with an insurance company. “It was scary in the beginning, but once we started of it was amazing and we enjoyed a lot,” she said and added that age is no barrier if one has strong will to do anything. .
Another founder member of the VAC, U. Raghunath Reddy said, “We faced little problems in the middle with occasional changes of wind direction, but overall, we have finished the event successfully.” “With this success we are planning to introduce hot air balloon for Sankranti,” he added.
