Sathupalli MLA receives eviction notice
Sandra Venkata Veeraiah wanted to own the government quaters after staying there for 18 years
Khammam: The evacuation of Sathupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah from a government quarters in NSP Colony turned into a hot topic here.
Veeraiah, who was elected on the Telugu Desam ticket in 2018, and had joined the ruling party on a Cabinet berth assurance, had been residing in the quarters for 18 years.
It was generally understood that he was allotted the quarter permanently. It is learnt that he tried to pay and purchase the quarters.
Suddenly, he received a notice from the government to vacate the quarters, which has since been allocated to the judiciary department.
The NSP land, extending to ten acres, has been encroached upon by many persons who built function halls and commercial complexes. NSP officials failed to protect the land as it could provide appropriate ownership documents in courts. The role of TRS leaders is suspected in the issue.
When asked about the order, Veeraiah said “It is a fact that I have received an eviction notice. I am searching for a new residence here.”
