Poor Response to Voter Registration Drive
Kurnool: The voter registration campaign drive organised by the district administration which began on Saturday received a poor response. Officials said that the youngsters could still have an opportunity to submit their applications online or at Tehsildar offices until December 9.
Special voter registration programmes were conducted on November 4 and 5, but the turnout was low. Only 8,636 Form-6 applications for voter registration were received across 2,186 polling stations. On the first day of the campaign, the response was minimal with some polling booths receiving just two or three applications.
The district administration was exploring ways to increase awareness about voter registration among young voters to ensure an inclusive electoral process.
