Rajendranagar Best Police Station in India
Hyderabad: The Rajendranagar police station of the Cyberabad commissionerate was adjudged the best in India, the first time that a police station from the tri-city commissionerates has secured such an honour.
Union home minister Amit Shah presented the award to the station house officer (SHO) B. Nagendra Babu during the 58th All India Conference of Directors-General and Inspectors-General of Police in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Director-General of Police (DGP) Ravi Gupta congratulated the SHO and the staff of the Rajendranagar police station.
"Hearty congratulations,” Revanth Reddy posted on X, along with a picture of the event.
DGP Ravi Gupta said that the achievement reflected the dedication and hard work of the Rajendranagar police. Congratulating Nagendra Babu, Gupta stated, "Their commitment to serving the community and upholding the law is an inspiration to all."
The selection process involves evaluation through the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS), with 75 stations shortlisted from over 17,000 police stations across India.
The criteria for selection encompass crime detection rate, investigation quality, community engagement, infrastructure maintenance, and adherence to human rights guidelines.
