HC: Dispose Rajagopal's security plea

HYDERABAD: Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of Telangana High Court on Tuesday directed the Director General of Police and Additional DGP, intelligence. to dispose of the representation made by former MLA and BJP leader Komatreddy Rajgopal Reddy, seeking restoration of the 2+2 police security to him, within 10 days.

Rajagopal Reddy had filed a petition complaining that the government had withdrawn the security given to him.

M. Roopender, counsel for the home department, told the court that the petitioner had suppressed the fact that he had been given 1+1 security which every former legislator is entitled to. He had only stated that 2+2 security was withdrawn, Roopender said.

Satyam Reddy, the senior counsel, appeared for Rajgopal Reddy and submitted that the petitioner’s 2+2 police security was withdrawn on November 21, 2022, after the Munugode byelection, and given 1+1 security. Rajgopal Reddy had faced many attacks and faced life threats, he said.
