ICF coaches for Kolkata Metro rail flagged off in Chennai

It comes with electrically operated automatic sliding doors with manual override during emergency and passenger talk back facility for emergency.

Chennai: State of the art Metro coaches manufactured at Integral Coach Factory, Chennai for Kolkata Metro was flagged off on Tuesday by A K Mittal, chairman, Railway Board at the coach factory.

The Eight coaches of the Train set manufactured at the cost of Rs 40 Crores are fully air conditioned with LCD display for passenger information and LED destination board.

It comes with electrically operated automatic sliding doors with manual override during emergency and passenger talk back facility for emergency.

The coaches manufactured at ICF are on par with the other imported metro coaches at half the cost, said ICF officials. ICF has been manufacturing coaches for Kolkata metro since 1984. ICF will manufacture 26 train sets for Kolkata Metro.
