Cochin University of Science and Technology launches research vessel

The fibre-glass vessel is around 11-meter in length and is equipped with 45 BHP motor.

KOCHI: In order to allow researchers to identify various biological changes of inland water bodies and study sustainable fishing, the Cusat School of Industrial Fisheries has launched a research vessel. The vessel, named M.B Ind-fish, was launched by Cusat vice-chancellor Dr. J. Letha on Thursday. Dr. A. Ramachandran, vice-chancellor of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS), was the chief guest of the function held at the Cusat boat jetty, located near Fine Arts Avenue, Kochi. The fibre-glass vessel is around 11-meter in length and is equipped with 45 BHP motor. The cost of the boat is around Rs 25 lakh.
