Indian Oil Corporation truckers, dealers strike hits oil supply in Kerala
A trade union leader said that the supply to oil pumps across the state is affected with dealers and transporters
KOCHI: The supply of diesel, petrol and ATF from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC)’s Irumbanam unit here was affected for the second day on Thursday with the talks convened by the management to resolve a strike failed to produce results. The transporters and dealers of IOC continued their indefinite strike demanding that the new tender floated for them by the company should be canceled and another tender should be floated by revising conditions.
The management stuck to its stand in the talks that this was not possible, following which around 420 transporters and dealers decided to stick to strike. A trade union leader said that the supply to oil pumps across the state is affected with dealers and transporters at Feroke in Kozhikode too resorting to strike. “The dealers and transporters of HPCL and BPCL will stop taking load for an hour on Friday expressing solidarity with IOC strike,” he said.
