THRISSUR: The D-Cinemas owned by actor Dileep was closed down on Friday as per the decision of the Chalakudy municipality. The municipal council had ordered its closure citing the violations of the permission given for its construction. The cinema hall will not be reopened till a Vigilance probe in this regard is completed.         The survey of the land where the Cinemas is located was  completed by the revenue department. According to Mr R. Babu,  survey superintendent,  the report will be handed over to the district collector on Saturday.

The survey was done on July 27 and the report was prepared after examining the survey results along with the old documents. A resurvey has been ordered following allegations that the actor had encroached on revenue land to set  up the cinema hall.  Previously  the land ownership was with a local temple administration, a family and the revenue department.   The district collector  ordered the resurvey following a directive from the revenue minister.

The state land revenue commissioner has also called for a probe into the land deal by the actor, now lodged in Aluva sub-jail.  The Chalakudy tahasildar has been asked  to submit a report on any encroachment by next week.  Sources in the collector’s office said a decision on the land ownership will be made only after getting the report of the tahasildar.  Dileep bought the land in nine land dealings. The revenue documents connected with some portions of the land is 95 years old.
