DMK appoints Chandrakumar as joint propaganda secretary
Two other colleagues of his who unsuccessfully contested the May 16 Assembly elections on DMK tickets were also accommodated in party posts.
Chennai: V.C. Chandrakumar, the founder of a splinter group of the DMDK which merged with the DMK, was on Sunday named the joint propaganda secretary of the party.

In a statement here, DMK general secretary and senior party leader K. Anbhazhagan said Chandrakumar has been appointed as the DMK propaganda joint secretary, while his colleague S.R. Parthiban was appointed as the Secretary of party's election committee.
Mr Chandrakumar, who broke away from Vijayakanth-led DMDK ahead of the May 16 Assembly elections, had floated the MDMDK and contested the polls jointly with the DMK. In July, the party formally merged with the DMK.
Meanwhile, ‘Senji’ Siva was appointed as the resolution committee member and Constantine Ravindran, considered a close aide of Vijayakanth and one who joined DMK in July, appointed as Joint Secretary, Information and Communications.
Another DMK member S Abdul Khader from Tirunelveli district was appointed as Joint Secretary of DMK's farmers' wing. The newly appointed persons would jointly work with existing members, he added.
