Hyderabad: Speeding bus mows down home guard

Hyderabad: A 65-year-old home guard working at the Hayathnagar police station was killed in an accident near ORR. The mishap occurred when a bus hit his moped.

Police said G. Durgaiah was coming to the police station on his moped on Friday. He took a U-turn at Kuntloor X Roadsand a bus belonging to Kesineni Travels hit him from behind. He suffered serious injuries and was shifted to Gandhi Hospital, where he died on Saturday evening.

A case of causing death through negligent driving was registered against the bus driver. The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem. Durgaiah is survived by his wife, five daughters and a son.
