University Grants Commission asks all institutes to go digital

Hyderabad: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all higher educational institutions to avoid cash transactions and to adopt digital modes of payment for transparency. The MHRD has decided that all higher educational institutions nation-wide should carry out monetary transactions only in the digital mode. The UGC directed all educational institutions to go online while receiving student fees, examination fees, vendor payments and while paying salaries.

Students are also advised to go digital for all transactions concerning hostel services. All canteens and business establishments on campuses must be asked to use only digital modes for receipts and payments, the notice said. The circular said, “All receipts and payments like student fees, exam fees, salaries and vendor payments shall be made only through the digital mode.”
