MP min. opposes ‘non-veg’ food in juvenile homes
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra was on Sunday up in arms over a decision by state women and child welfare department to provide egg and chicken for inmates of juvenile homes in MP.
A notification issued by the women and child welfare department on August 25 detailed the menu for the inmates of juvenile homes in MP making provision of a chicken recipe once in a week and egg four times in a week.
Mishra has taken serious note of the issue, saying that “This has created a confusing situation. I want to make it clear that there is no such proposal (of providing chicken and egg to inmates of juvenile homes) under consideration of government nor any such proposal will be implemented”.
The home and women and child welfare departments are at loggerheads over execution of the notification issued by the latter, sources said.
