Miscreants burn house, vehicles in Puvattuparamba
The family escaped through the backdoor when the fire spread, said the police.
KOZHIKODE: The house of the woman manager of a non-banking finance company was charred by miscreants in Puvattuparamba in the wee hours of Friday. There had been a protest in the company by a section of employees when the manager had opened the branch. Police suspect a link between the two events.
Two bikes and a scooter parked in front of the manager, V.G. Lellet, were burned. A portion of the house was also destroyed in the attack. The family escaped through the backdoor when the fire spread, said the police. The branch in Poovattuparamba was reopened with police protection on Thursday. The manager also alleged that she was threatened that her husband, who is in the police service, would be transferred. The dog squad and forensic experts collected evidence from the spot. CCTV footage from nearby areas would
also be checked.
