Sri Balaji Medical College starts functioning in Tirupati
Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan on Thursday inaugurated the Sri Balaji Medical College, Hospital and Research Institute here on Thursday. He also opened the new auditorium of SV Medical College Alumni Association and laid the foundation stone for a digital library for students.
The Governor appreciated Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Trust, apart from Sairam Group and Vigyan Bharathi Charitable Trust for starting the Sri Balaji Medical College with a vision to provide health and education to poor and middle classes of the society.
“I hope these organisations will make affordable healthcare available to every needy person without any barriers'', he observed.
The medical college has started with an intake of 150 MBBS students for the academic year 2022–23.
Harichandan said Sri Balaji Medical College is not only a step forward in the field of medical education, it will also give a major boost to Tirupati region and other Rayalaseema districts in getting high-end healthcare facilities.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the new auditorium of SV Medical College Tirupati, the Governor appreciated members of S.V.M.C. Alumni Association led by Dr. R. Ramesh Babu for successfully organising several national and international conferences in different super specialties, including interventional cardiology.
“The alumni association has received appreciation even from Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Harichandan underlined.
