Thiruvananthapuam: The Railways have decided to remove unclaimed two-wheelers from parking lots of railway stations under the Thiruvananthapuram division. These vehicles will be auctioned as scrap.

The Madras High court has already given permission to the railways to consider unclaimed vehicles as scrap.

At present, 24 such vehicles are in the parking lot at the main entry point at Thampanoor side  and 26  at the power house entry parking area . These vehicles will be considered as scrap.

Nearly 200 unclaimed two wheelers are lying in the parking area of Thiruvananthapuram Central, Nagercoil, Ernakulam and  Thrissur railway stations. This has resulted in reduction of space in the parking area. The details of these unclaimed vehicles have been passed on to the Motor vehicle department and law enforcing agencies.

Details on these vehicles are available in the Railways’ website http://www.sr.indianrailways.gov.in, in the link Trivandrum division-news and updates.

Owners of these vehicles, along with documents proving ownership, can approach deputy station Manager at Mobile number: 09567869377 to claim the vehicle. If there is no claimant during the stipulated period, the Railways will auction as scrap. Similar action will also be initiated on unclaimed vehicles at other stations under the division.
