HMWS&SB celebrates Jagjivan Ram jayanti
HYDERABAD: The staff of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), led by its managing director Dana Kishore, celebrated Babu Jagjivan Ram jayanti at the board head office in Khairatabad on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, Dana Kishore said that as a freedom fighter and social reformer, Jagjivan Rao had worked for the uplift of the downtrodden and had crusaded for their rights.
He said that the water board is always focussed in the safety and wellbeing of its workers. He said that unmanned sanitation work is being undertaken and special air tech missions have been designed to carry out operations so that men need not enter pipes.
"Awareness programs are being conducted on safety measures, use of tools, methods to be dealt with in emergencies and other issues in the working areas," he said.
Later, he flagged off a rally of SC ST Welfare Association union leaders from the headquarters to the Jagjivan Ram statue near LB Stadium.
Top officials Ajmira Krishna, Sridhar Babu, V.L. Praveen Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Swami, Vijaya Rao, Vinod Bhargava, Amarender Reddy, Prabhu, Water Works Employees Union (Telangana) president Rambabu Yadav, its associate president Rajireddy, leaders and members of the board’s SC ST, BC Employees Welfare Association and staff participated in the celebrations.
