Karnataka police notice to MEP founder
The police issued a notice under Section 41 of Cr.PC directing her to appear before the Bengaluru police for investigation.
Hyderabad: The Karnataka police on Tuesday visited the house of Mahila Empowerment Party (MEP) founder and CEO Heera Group of Companies, Nowhera Shaik, in connection with cheating cases registered against the party in Bengaluru.
The police issued a notice under Section 41 of Cr.PC directing her to appear before the Bengaluru police for investigation.
A few persons, who had contested the elections on MEP tickets, lodged complaints with the Karnataka police, alleging that the party had collected money from them for party fund, a charge that was denied by the party functionaries.
The Heera Group of Companies was in news after the Hyderabad CCS registered a cheating case against the company following a complaint lodged by the Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi in 2012. The Mahila Empowerment Party had contested 244 seats in the recent Karnataka elections.
