Mangaluru landslide claims lives of two kids

Mangaluru: Two children died due to the landslide at Gurupura Banglagudde near Mangaluru on Sunday.

The two dead are identified as Safwan (16) and Sahala (12).

According to sources, three houses situated on the slope were completely ravaged in the landslide due rains.

The NDRF team along with fire department officials were involved in the operation and assisted by the local residents in the rescue operation.
In the evening two dead bodies were found in the debris. The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital.

District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary visited the spot and directed the officials to shift those who lost the house to the temporary shelters.
