Yasmin, a Bihar native, was held in New Delhi airport last Friday while trying to board a flight to Kabul
KASARGOD: The district sessions court here on Friday granted the plea of the Special Investigation Team for the custody of Yasmin Ahammad, 29, who had allegedly colluded with the 17 youths who have joined the IS camps. Judge S. Manohar Kini allowed the SIT to interrogate her till August 8 and gather evidence. Yasmin, a Bihar native, was held in New Delhi airport last Friday while trying to board a flight to Kabul with her 4-year old son.
Police say that she was to join Abdul Rashid Abdulla, the Thrikaripur native indoctrinator who is believed to be the mastermind of IS link. The woman would be brought to Thrikkarippur in Kasargod and Kottakkal in Malappuram, according to police. The SIT has confirmed that Yasmin had used the phone and debit card of Rashid after his missing.
“She had withdrawn money using the debit card in Delhi. Yasmin played a big role in the missing of the youths and their suspected joining IS. Most probably she had gone back to New Delhi a year ago entrusted with the task of facilitating the journey of all the 17 persons,” said a member of the SIT.
