BSNL offers pre-paid plan of Rs 44 for Onam

KOCHI: The state-owned telecom operator BSNL has announced a Rs 44 pre-paid plan in the Ernakulam business area comprising Ernakulam and Idukki districts as part of its Onam festive offer. The new plan will hit the market on Monday. The pre-paid plan has a validity of one year, said G. Muraleedharan, principal general manager, BNSL Ernakulam SSA, at a press meet here. The plan provides a talk time of Rs 20 with calls to BSNL numbers costing only 5 paise per minute. Call to other networks will be charged 10 paise per minute. The new plan also provides a free data of 500 MB.

Mr Muraleedharan said BSNL will also offer three new tariff vouchers as part of its Onam festival plans. The Rs 188 voucher will have talk time worth Rs 189 with additional talk time worth Rs 31 for 14 days and 1 BG data. The Rs 289 voucher will have an additional talk time of '51 and one GB data for 28 days. The voucher for Rs 389 will have an additional talk time worth Rs 71 for 30 days. Mr Muraleedharan said the network will set up 84 new 2G towers and 234 3G towers in the two districts.  He added that the BSNL is also offering new rates and plans for its broadband services.
