Bapatla forum mourns demise Of Radhakrishnan’s grandson
Keshav Desiraju dies in Chennai on birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan
VIJAYAWADA: The Forum For Better Bapatla expressed grief at the sudden demise of Baptla nativeKeshav Desiraju, the grandson of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, in Chennai, on Sunday. His ancestors lived in Desiraju vari Street.
Ironically, he died on the 133th birth anniversary of his eminent grandfather.
Keshav Desiraju (66) was a retired IAS officer from the 1978 batch. He was also on the governing board of the Centre for Policy Research. In the many roles that he played, he significantly contributed to the Mental Health Care Bill, 2016, as one of its drafting members. He retired as union secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs.
Keshav Desiraju was the author of several books, including ‘Of Gifted Voice’ which spoke of the life and times of Carnatic legend MS Subbulakshmi. All his life he was respected as an honest officer with impeccable integrity.
Committee members of Forum For Better Bapatla, led by its secretary PC Saibabu, paid rich tributes to the great son of Bapatla, Keshav Desiraju and remembered his services and association with Bapatla.
