Two girls in relationship' end life in Nalgonda

Hyderabad: A friendship between two girls that turned into an emotional relationship came to a tragic end in Nalgonda. The girls who reportedly attempted to end life by suicide at a park in Nalgonda town yesterday died while undergoing treatment at a government hospital on Wednesday.

In the dying declaration of one of the girl students, it was revealed that a romantic relationship led to their deaths. In a police inquiry, the memes, short videos retrieved from the mobile phones of victims have led to suspicion of ‘same sex relationship’.

The Nalgonda II Town inspector Pasupuleti Naga Durga Prasad said the victims came to Rajiv Park where they attempted to die by suicide. The visitors in the park noticed them lying in an unconscious state and shifted them to a government hospital for treatment. While undergoing treatment, the two girls died on Wednesday.

The Nalgonda police initially registered a case of death by suicide and later it was altered to Section 174 of the CrPC after police obtained short videos. The police received information that the victims were friends for the past few years.

The two girls were pursuing degree courses in a college and they were native of Nalgonda district. Their parents are daily wage labourers belonging to poor family background.
