Chennai: Nasrin, 23, who withdrew her protest against triple talaq at Tambaram, hoping that the differences with the husband will be settled through the Kazi is now shattered, as the matter is being transferred to the family court.

Her three-day protest since Monday outside her husband Habeeb’s residence at suburban Tambaram was concluded after senior police officers intervened and promised to settle the matter. As per the promise, the assistant commissioner of Tambaram had earlier sent the letter to the chief Kazi of Royapettah, which also handles disputes between couples.

However, as Habeeb has now approached the family court, Nasrin has to wait till she is called for counselling by the court of law. A disappointed Nasrin told Deccan Chronicle, “It is a small issue. I am sure that the differences would settle down if I am given a chance to talk to him.” She has been desperately trying to reach her husband, whose number is not reachable since a week now. “He has approached the court only on Friday,” she said.

Habeeb has issued a triple talaq and a demand draft of Rs 20,000 to Nasrin, after completing one year in the wedlock this October.  The reason cited in the notice was the two miscarriages undergone by her recently.  Efforts of Deccan Chronicle to reach Habeeb went futile.
