Vijayawada: AP State SC Commission chairman Marumudi Victor Prasad said that some political leaders and opposition-supporting media distorted his words expressed during a recent programme about Dalits turning victims. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said that he was the chief guest for the conference organised, in which he said, “If all the SCs are talking about their sufferings, everyone knows that I, born in the SC caste, am also a big victim," and further said that his words were distorted.

Prasad said that he did not say anything about suffering in the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government, and those words were regarding the suppression of Dalits for decades. He expressed his concern that trolling was being done on social media on this issue. He expressed anger that they were plotting to alienate him from the government. It is a big mistake to link his words to the government and throw mud. He said, “ SCs have been a victimised caste for thousands of years, and as part of that, SC brothers are victims, and it is wrong to say that he is also the biggest victim.”

Saying that he travelled from Ichchapuram to Anantapur five times in these 26 months, Prasad said that as the chairman of the SC Commission, he took up many issues and resolved them. He claimed that some leaders are trying to increase the distance between Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and him and claimed that he did not work against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
